The Tangente IA project is a mobilizing project backed by the Quebec government to the tune of $5.6 million. Based mainly on Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the project will use solar-powered smart devices and integrated sensors capable of taking measurements including traffic congestion, air pollution and noise around bus stops. These sensors will be used to retrieve data on passenger mobility conditions, road traffic and the city’s environment, ultimately transforming the customer experience in public transportation.
Innovitech has been mandated to create the NPO for the management of the “Tangente IA” project, as well as to provide professional project monitoring, reporting and animation services.
The Tangente IA project currently mobilizes 3 main industrial partners (Buspas, KPI Digital and Enseicom), in addition to several Quebec universities: McGill, Concordia, Polytechnique Montréal, HEC Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, UQAM and UQTR.
Other Quebec SMEs will also be mobilized as part of this project to complete it by 2022. The deployment of innovative solutions in the public transit sector will help improve its attractiveness.
